The 2.5-hour guided kayak tour launches directly from the gorgeous, world-famous Kailua Beach. After just a quick 15-minute paddle, you get to jump ashore and explore your new-found island.

Our trained and experienced guide is sure to inform and escort you safely around Popoia Island, teaching you about the volcanic history, geology, birdlife, and sea life of the area. Enjoy snorkeling and ask about kayak surfing with our guide! After the tour, you get to relax and enjoy Kailua Beach for 2 hours before our van picks you up for the return to Waikiki.

Our 2.5-hour tour ends at noon, and if you are taking advantage of our free transportation from Waikiki, after your tour ends, you’ll be able to continue exploring on your kayak without your guide, or turn your kayak in and enjoy 2 hours of beach time until the shuttle picks you up at the beach at 2:30 for your return to Waikiki.

Details:
Your adventure day begins starts at our shop in world-famous Kailua! A quick briefing and safety instruction and you’re ready to launch! One of our trained naturalists will guide you along this beautiful coastal area to several close offshore islets. Along the way, you will see our most important resident, the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle. Your guide, well-versed in Hawaiian history, marine life, and our island’s geological formations will tell stories and impart thought-provoking information about Hawaii that most visitors would love to hear about.

You will be landing your safe and stable sit-on-top kayak on our world-famous beaches. Your guide is also a master paddler and instructor so you will learn the fun and safe way to paddle your kayak. If you choose to, our guide will even teach you how to catch a few waves.

Snorkeling and lunch are the first order of business, both looking back at the gorgeous beaches of Kailua and Lanikai, relaxing on white sandy beaches while sea and shorebirds flock overhead and nest nearby. The windward coast of Oahu has over 12 varieties of seabirds inhabiting this flourishing coastline. While on the island you will gently trek to natural pools or a breath-taking cove. This will be a day enjoyed by all.

Schedule:

• Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (Closed Sunday)
• Tour Times: 8:30 AM
• Duration: 3 Hours (approx Kayak time) 

Recommendations:

• Wear comfortable swimwear and shoes or sandals good for walking on rocks. Be prepared for a little exercise and to get wet.
• Bring sunscreen, underwater camera, hat, sunglasses, and eyeglass retainer strap if you wear glasses/sunglasses.

Restrictions/Requirements:

• Weight limitations:
  • Maximum weight for Single Kayaks is 300 lbs.
  • Maximum weight for Tandem Kayaks is 400 lbs
  • Maximum weight for XL Tandem Kayaks is 500 lbs
• All participants must complete electronic waivers prior to participation.
• A Credit Card is required as a security deposit for the kayaks and other gear.

Parking: There is onsite parking when you drive in. Please drive your vehicle in, turn around at the back of the lot and park your vehicle towards the front of the lot along the fence.
