Try Scuba Diving at Hanauma Bay – No Experience Required. Your scuba diving adventure at Hanauma Bay will begin when you meet your diving instructor just outside of the main entrance. He will provide you with entrance tickets and get you checked in with the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve staff. Before riding down to the beach on the tram you will receive a lesson detailing scuba diving safety and how to properly use the equipment. Once in shallow water you will practice a few skills with your instructor before swimming into deeper water to explore the abundance of reef fish and corals that thrive at Hanauma Bay.

Tour Description:

• Small Groups of no more than 4 divers per instructor

• Basic Scuba Safety Instruction

• In-Water Basic Skill Practice and Review

• Scuba Diving Equipment (Regulator, BCD, 3mm Wetsuit, Mask/Fins/Snorkel)

• Entrance Fee and Tram Ride to the Beach at Hanauma Bay

• Underwater Tour of Hanauma Bay's Coral Reef

• Availability: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Restrictions/Requirements:

• Must be 10 years or older.

• Must not fly 18 hours after scuba diving

• All Participants must be able to speak and understand English for us to safely take them scuba diving.

• All Non Certified Participants Must complete a medical release form with the questions listed, any answer of “yes” will prohibit the individual from participation until a signed release from their doctor is received.

• All Tours Include Small Instructor to Diver Ratios of no more than 4:1

• 7:30 AM Morning Tour

• 7:30 AM - Check in with Dive Instructor at Hanauma Bay

• 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM - Sign Paperwork and watch Hanauma Bay Entrance Video

• 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM - On-Land Scuba Diving Lesson & Getting into Equipment

• 9:15 AM - Walk to tram to ride down to the beach

• 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM - In Water Scuba Diving Lesson and Underwater Tour

• 11:00 AM - Check out of Hanauma Bay, Remove Scuba Gear and Dry off!

• 1:15 PM Afternoon Tour

• 1:15 PM - Check in with Dive Instructor at Hanauma Bay

• 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM - Sign Paperwork and watch Hanauma Bay Entrance Video

• 2:00 PM  to 2:45 PM - On-Land Scuba Diving Lesson & Getting into Equipment

• 2:45 PM - Walk to tram to ride down to the beach

• 3:00 PM  to 4:00 PM - In Water Scuba Diving Lesson and Underwater Tour

Check in:

Please check in with your dive instructor at the front entrance to Hanauma Bay (between the gift shop and ticketing windows) at your tour start time (either 7:30am or 1:15pm).

Parking: 

Parking is available in the Hanauma Bay lot for $1 for the entire day.

Special Notes:

The parking lot is generally full from 8am-1pm, so if you are arriving early for your afternoon tour you may be turned away until the parking lot empties. If you have issues with parking after 1pm please give us a call. After you have completed the tour you are welcome to stay at Hanauma Bay and enjoy the beach for the remainder of the day at no additional charge.
