Puakea, designed by golf course Architect Robin Nelson cleverly uses the local natural beauty as his landscape, setting his course at the base of the towering Mount Haupu. Puakea treats golfers to the stunning island beauty that is Kauai, playing through deep ravines, crossing mountain fed streams and revealing views of the Pacific Ocean.

Robin Nelson had this to say upon completion of his golf course, "Puakea may be the most fun course to play in Hawaii. The course rides up, down and around deep ravines. It has beautiful, pali views on about three-quarters of the course and ocean views for the rest. Each of the holes are distinctly different so you're constantly facing new, interesting challenges."

Puakea is 7000 yards of exhilarating golf, using beautiful island flora and fauna, giving a sense that it is in complete harmony with nature. The masterfully designed course clearly conveys the routes golfers should take for textbook pars. However, the more daring golfer will be tempted to achieve glorious birdies for a truly rewarding round of golf.

Restrictions/Requirements:

• Golf Attire

In general, resort wear is expected. Spike-less golf shoes are strongly recommended and collared shirts are required at all times for men. Shorts are acceptable; however, courses with strict dress codes expect shorts to be at least 16" in length. Please do not wear jeans, cut-offs, tank tops, or sneakers. For women, we recommend golf shoes with socks, collared shirts, and slacks, shorts, or golf skirts.

• Single Players

Most golf courses will not allow single players.  In general all single players will be paired up with other to make a 3 or 4 some.
